Currently, I am a Visiting Professor of the State University of Santa Cruz - UESC, Ilhéus, Bahia, Brazil, hosted in the Applied Ecology & Conservation Lab - LEAC and permanent professor in the Ecology and Conservation of Biodiversity program (PPGECB) UESC. Field ecologist, I graduated in Ecology at the São Paulo State University - UNESP, Rio Claro (2002 - 2005) and Doctor in Science (Applied Ecology) from ESALQ, University of São Paulo - USP (2008 - 2013), enjoyed an abroad period in the Integrative Ecology Group, Estación Biológica Doñana, CSIC, Seville, Spain, coordinated by Dr. Pedro Jordano. My postdoctoral was carried in the Department of Ecology at UNESP, Rio Claro, SP and in 2015 I spent a year as visiting researcher in the McCleery`s Lab, coordinated by Dr. Robert McCleery, at the University of Florida, FL, United States. With knowledge in areas such as natural history, ecology, conservation biology, modeling, statistical and spatial analysis, I am interested in understand how human disturbances such as defaunation, forest fragmentation and climate change affect the occurrence and distribution of mammalian species, as well as processes such as downsizing and rodentization. By applying diversity metrics (taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic), my goal is to identify which are the main ecological processes affected by human disturbances, and how these processes can affect the ecosystems functioning. My studies are located in the Atlantic Forest, one of the hotspots of biodiversity due to the high level of endemism and species richness, and where about 80% of the Brazilian population is concentrated. I had a PIBIC fellowship in 2004 during the development of my monograph research, FAPESP fellowship (TT-3 category) during the technical training in 2007, FAPESP DD and FAPESP BEPE-DD fellowship during my doctoral and FAPESP PD and FAPESP BEPE-PD fellowship during my Postdoctoral. | LAB | Curriculum Lattes | ResearchGate | Google Scholar | Academia.edu | FAPESP |
